Mental Illness or Brain Allergies?

by Lynne Lovejoy, Book Purchaser

William H. Philpott, M.D. and Dwight K. Kalita, Ph.D. have written a well-documented book, Brain Allergies ($16.95) that demonstrates the link between behavioral dysfunction and nutrition.

The Standard American Diet (SAD) has been proven to cause so many of our degenerative diseases, like heart disease, strokes, cancer, diabetes, osteoporosis, and the like.

This book shows us how the same SAD diet can cause brain inflammation and subsequent behavioral disorders.

What is the Standard American Diet? It consists of a very small variety of overprocessed, denatured foods, refined grains, refined sugars, saturated fats, lots of dairy and meat products, very little fresh fruits and vegetables, and lots of nonfood substances with caffeine or alcohol.

Is it any wonder we get sick and crazy?

The authors give good examples of research done, demonstrating the effects of certain food substances that actually cause behavioral disorders and how those disorders clear up when those food substances are removed from the diet.

They also include many case histories of people who have been healed without the use of medication, simply by changing what they ate.

Hyperactivity and autism in children is on the rise.

There are 10 million hyperactive and autistic children in the U.S. today, a situation heartbreaking for parents and baffling to physicians.

There is an inspiring story about Angela, an unresponsive, autistic four-year-old who was transformed into an animated, normal child after eliminating her allergic foods and adding vitamins and other mega-nutrients.

There are many other case histories where patients have been healed of various disorders from catatonia schizophrenia to hypoglycemia by analyzing and then changing their diets.

Over and over again, the authors prove that what we eat affects us physically and mentally.

They prove that people can, and do, recover from so-called untreatable conditions.

This is not a do-it-yourself kind of book. But you and your health practitioner can use this book to help heal severe disorders like schizophrenia or autism.

Meanwhile, you can help yourself or a loved one by eliminating refined starches and sugars, saturated fats and large quantities of meat and dairy products.

You can add lots and lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and other whole foods to your diet.

We are what we eat and nothing works like good food!
