Barley Flakes - Organic
These light delicious flakes are made from heated, organic flaked Barley.
Oat Flakes - Organic
Oat Flakes are whole oats that are heated and flaked in such a way that most of the nutritional value is retained. Often used in breads. cereals, and casseroles.
Quick Oats
Commercial & Organic
These thin flakes of oats cook up very quickly. creating a nutritious, warm breakfast cereal. They are also used in casseroles, cookies. and cakes.
Add 1cup oats to 2 cups boiling water and simmer for 5 minutes. Try adding vanilla soymilk in place of I cup of water and a pinch of cardamon and cinnamon powder!
Rolled Oats
Regular & Organic
Oats are high in protein, fat, B vitamins, and vitamin E. They're good for digestion and act as a mild laxative,
Add I cup of Oats to 2 cups boiling water. Stir and simmer until done.
Rolled Oats- Thick
Thick Rolled Oats are hulled oat kernels that are steamed, rolled and dried to make this popular grain product. They are excellent as cereal, in cookies, breads, pastries, and as a base for homemade granola.
Rye Flakes
This organic flake is simply heat flaked whole rye. Excellent in cereal, casseroles, soups, stews, or granola.
To make cream of rye, add I cup grain to 4 cups water and simmer over low heat for 15 minutes.
Spelt Flakes - Organic
Rolled spelt berries that cook like wheat flakes.
Triticale Flakes
Triticale is the world's first man-made grain developed by cross-breeding wheat and rye. Higher in protein than both, its nutty flavor is excellent in breads and baking mixes.
Wheat Flakes - Organic
This red winter wheat has been heated until soft, then rolled and dried. 10.
Use like Oat Flakes. Takes about 20 minutes to cook. Try using "raw" in cookies and granola.
Oat Bran
The outside layers of the Oat grain make up Oat Bran. It is well known for its cholesterol-lowering effects. Try it in muffins, cereals, or stir-fry.

Falafel
Falafel, a Middle Eastern dish, consists of ground chick peas (or garbanzo beans) that are spiced and made into burg ers or balls that are fried or baked. Traditionally served in pita pockets, Falafel is a filling and flavorful meal.
Garbanzo beans, whole wheat flour, parsley, spices, onion. salt, baking soda.
Mix I cup Falafel with 2' /3 cup water. Let stand 15 minutes. Form into balls and deep fry.
Hummus
This Middle Eastern bean dip, made from Garbanzo beans, sesame tahini, and spices, is delicious as a spread or for dipping vegetables.
Mix, with fork, I cup Hummus mix and 3/4 cup cold water. Let stand 5 minutes. Add more water to vary consistency.
Tabouli
Tabouli, a traditional Middle Eastern salad, is made primarily with bulgur and additional spices. It is an ideal dish for summertime.
Bulgar wheat, parsley, onion, salt, citric acid, garlic, spice, natural lemon flavoring and herbs.
Add 1 cup Tabouli Mix to 1 cup cold water and 1/4 cup olive oil. Refrigerate at least 30 minutes. Fluff and add diced tomato. Makes 8 half cup servings.
Vegetarian Chili Mix
A delicious and easy to make chili mix.
Soy protein concentrate, dehydrated vegetables (tomatoes, onion, garlic, potatoes, celery, red bell peppers), corn meal, barley, spices, salt, paprika, soy sauce powder, brown rice syrup powder, yeast extraction, vinegar powder.
Combine 3 1/2 cups water with 13/4 cups Chili Mix. Heat and serve.
Instant Refried Beans
Instant Refried Beans are dried, pre-cooked beans, mildly seasoned and ready to use for burritos, dips, etc. These beans are fabulous on backpacking trips!
Precooked pinto beans, dehydrated onions, spices, salt.
Add 1 1/2 cups Refried Beans to 2 cups boiling water. Stir well, cover 5 minutes, and serve.
Instant Black Beans
Dried, pre-cooked, and mildly seasoned, instant Black Beans are excellent in enchiladas, burritos, or as a dip. Try them for your next camping trip!
Precooked black beans, dehydrated onions, spices, sea salt, soybean oil, dehydrated garlic.
Add 1 1/2 cups Instant Black Beans to 2 cups boiling watcr. Stir well, cover 5 minutes, and serve.
Nature Burger
Nature Burger is an awesome combination of whole grain and vegetables.
Brown rice, dehydrated vegetables (yellow peas, green peas, onions, potatoes, garlic, tomatoes, celery, carrots, red bell peppers), barley, wheat, gluten flour, oats, sesame seeds, soy protein concentrate, soy sauce powder, dried yeast, salt, soybean oil, yeast extract, spices, paprika.
Add 1 1/2 cups of Nature Burger mix to 1 1/2 cups of boiling water. Stir well and let stand for 10 to 15 minutes. Makes 7-10 patties.

Nuts
We go nuts at the Co-op offering an excellent selection of commercial and organic nuts. You'll find everything from almonds, pecans and walnuts to tamari nut mixes, honey nut mixes and roasted or raw nut mixes.
Hijiki
Hijiki is a stringy, black seaweed that is often sauteed with vegetables or used in soups and salads. it has a mild sea taste and blends well with many foods.
Kombu
Cleaned and dried Kombu can be chopped and fried with vegetables, or shredded and powdered for use as a seasoning. it has a strong, robust flavor.
Atole
Atole is roasted blue corn meal used as a beverage or breakfast cereal.
Add 4 tablespoons of Atole to 4 cups of water. Heat and stir vigorously. Takes about 10 minutes.
Nine Grain Cereal
Bring 3 cups of water to a boil. Slowly stir in 1 cup of Vita-Grain Cereal. Reduce heat and simmer 8-12 minutes until cereal reaches desired tenderness.
Carob
Carob, made from an evergreen plant, is often used as a chocolate substitute. It is high in protein, calcium and phosphorous. Carob has a low fat content and contains no caffeine.
Sucanat
A natural cane sweetener.
Chocolate
From the tropical Cocoa tree, chocolate is 50% fat and high in calories with trace amounts of vitamins and minerals. Chocolate has the stimulants of caffeine and theobromine.
Date Sugar
Essentially, Date Sugar consists of dry, pulverized dates which contain lots of naturally occurring sugars. Date sugar doesn't dissolve well, but is suitable for cooking and baking.
Fructose
Our Fructose is a naturally-occurring simple sugar found in corn. The Fructose which is sold commercially is highly refined and is no more natural than white sugar. It has the same number of calories per gram as sugar, but is up to I and 1/2 times as sweet.
Turbinado Sugar
Turbinado sugar is a highly processed product. Having gone through all but the final filtration of sugar refining, it contains 95% sucrose.
Good for baking or as a sweetener in hot beverages.
Non-Instant Dry
Non-Fat Milk - Organic
Non-instant milk is more nutritious than instant milk. Add 9 parts cold water to I part non-instant milk. Stir vigorously or blend for 5 seconds.
Nutritional Yeast
Nutritional Yeast is grown In, introducing pure strain cultures of yeast to a sugar medium usually beet or cane molasses. This food supplement can be added to baked goods, casseroles, beverages, and snacks.
Try sprinkling Nutritional Yeast over organic yellow popcorn for a nutritiously delicious snack!
Sea Salt
Sea Salt is Sodium Chloride of extremely high purity. It is made from evaporated sea salt in a vacuum evaporation process. our brand contains no anti-caking, free-flowing additives, or other conditioners.
TVP
Texturized Vegetable Protein (TVP) is made from either defatted or full-fat soy flour.
To hydrate, add 7/8 cup of boiling water to I cup TVP.
Excellent cooked in stir-fry, stews, or shaped into patties and grilled.
Wheat Germ
Wheat Germ can be eaten alone as a breakfast cereal, combined with other grains, or added to a variety of recipes, including breads, cookies and casseroles. Wheat Germ contains high amounts of B-vitamins and vitamin E.
